The Really Terrible Choir is for people who love to sing, but who perhaps feel that they don’t sing well enough to be in a real choir. Though of course we welcome good singers as well. Very, very warmly!
What do we sing? All sorts! From Irving Berlin to Andrew Lloyd Webber, and most stops in between. Beatles, Abba, the odd classic. If we like the melody, we’ll try it. We might not succeed, but we’ll try!
We make regular trips to sing for local memory cafes and friendship clubs, supplying song sheets to members and encouraging them to join in and sing along. It’s a joy to see some of their members, who through dementia rarely speak at all, join in and sing with gusto. And very occasionally, if they ask us really nicely, we sing at one of the Helston & District u3a Social Meetings!
